Is Callan McAuliffe Playing Dante in 'The Walking Dead'?

In The Walking Dead's second episode of the season, "The Damned", actor Callan McAuliffe makes his debut as an unnamed Savior who is taken prisoner by Jesus and Tara. The question of course, is who might McAuliffe be playing.

A casting call prior to season 8 filming was seeking an actor to play the role of "Dillon". Described as a sexy, blue-collar twenty-something whose survival skills include sarcasm, the actor chosen might get picked up for subsequent seasons. A sarcastic twenty-something who could continue on the show for seasons to come? Many comic book fans immediately had "Dillon" pegged as the show's version of Dante. While McAuliffe isn't quite as old as Dante is in the comics, he does fit that casting call pretty closely.

In the comics, after the completion of the "All Out War" storyline, there is a time jump. This is where Dante makes his first appearance, having joined the Hilltop Community in the interim and becoming one of Maggie's closest allies. He also happens to be harboring quite the crush on the Hilltop's leader.

So, is Callan McAuliffe playing Dillon? And is Dillon in fact Dante? Let us know your thoughts on this potential Walking Dead casting in the comments below!
